If you are currently furloughed you can complete driver CPC training sessions and not effect your entitlement. As an industry many of us, myself included, have seen ourselves grounded, why not take advantage of this incredibly quiet time to complete your driver CPC training cycle. Even though the government has extended any expiring DQC’s who can afford to not jump back to work when the call comes? The virtual driver CPC course is definitely the safest way in the current climate to complete your driver CPC training. The department for transport are actively encouraging PSV drivers to take advantage of the virtual driver CPC training sessions as it doesn’t involve any unnecessary travelling.

Driver CPC From A iPad Or Laptop.

The process is very straight forward, same as a normal classroom-based course, we have to check your qualifications and ID, this can be done via Email, we do have to do this before we can allocate you a place, once this is done we then email you the relevant paper work. You need to have a good internet connection and computer/laptop/tablet with a minimum 10” screen, you also need to download the app called Zoom, this a free app. It is advisable to familiarise yourself with this app and its settings before the course commences so there’s no distributions with your driver CPC training. We can host the course as a full 7-hour session which is 1 full training day, or we can break this down into 2 3.5 hrs running within 24 hours of each other, so two consecutive mornings or afternoons. It is not advisable to ‘bank’ more than your 35 driver CPC training hours, this is an outdated practise and you would not be update with any future changes, and more importantly the hours will not transfer at the end of your five year cycle leaving you with time and money wasted.

Still Study Whilst You Have Been Furloughed.

As this is a virtual driver CPC course, we do have some limitation’s, we cannot offer safe and fuel-efficient driving practical session’s for obvious reasons, but we can offer all the other modules. Our instructor has a lot of passion about the PSV training and has had very positive feedback from all previous training courses, both classroom and virtually. Some of our previous training attendees include transport managers, drivers with over 35 years’ experience, a retired traffic police officer, and newer drivers, completing there first cycle of training.
